Our History

In February 2020, an Asian woman narrowly escaped physical assault in the Netherlands (Volkskrant). As soon as this happened, she remembered an incident that took place 48 hours prior, that of another Asian woman who was assaulted, all the way across the country (RTL), and launched a survey, collecting incidents of racism experienced by Asians in the Netherlands and Europe. This was our first survey, with nearly 300 responses from 168 respondents within two weeks of its launch, and was the first to document incidents of anti-Asian racism in Europe (to our knowledge). Three years later, we’re a group of 20 volunteers from across Europe, fields of expertise, diasporic backgrounds and life experiences, and are a registered charity in the Netherlands.
